WHO WE ARE
DEVON'S LEADING PROVIDER OF INTERACTIVE DRUMMING WORKSHOPS, BUILDING COMMUNITY, CELEBRATING CULTURE AND SUPPORTING MENTAL WELLBEING.
It all started with an Afrocentric retail shop.
Now, it's a mission for societal change.
Djembe Devon was founded by entrepreneur and facilitator Natasha "Tasha" Vigille. The business was born out of her previous Afrocentric retail shop and community hub, "Black Wall Street London". After closing the shop in Barnstaple, Tasha was inspired to launch Djembe Devon to continue and expand upon the weekly drumming and wellbeing workshops she had hosted.
The idea crystallised after her uncle, Master Drum Instructor Trevor "Ras Jabulani" Hall, held a master drumming class at her store. Seeing how well the session brought the community together, she learned the ropes from him and launched Djembe Devon to promote community mental health, cultural appreciation and inclusivity through interactive drumming.

Our Primary Workshops for schools focus on transforming learning into an engaging experience. Through interactive activities that align with curriculum topics and enhance cultural events, like Black History month, ensuring every child has the chance to learn and celebrate!
FAMILY SESSIONS
